Please join us for the first joint program with the Northern California Chapter of the Association of Clinical Reasearch Professionals (ACRP). Please RSVP if you will joining us for the dinner buffet and networking from 6:30 - 7:30 pm. There is no charge to ACRP members and the charge is $10* for Non-ACRP members for the meal and $25* for Non-ACRP members who want Contact Hours for the Program, which has been submitted for approval of 1.5 Contact Hours. The Educational program will be held from 7:30 - 9 pm. This presentation will discuss the budgeting and negotiating process from both the sponsor's and site's perspective, in order to produce a mutually beneficial working relationship. Topics to be discussed include budget template development and potential barriers during negotiation.

Speaker Biography
Bruno Gagnon, B. Pharm., M. Sc. is currently Director of Development Services at Chiron Corporation in the BioPharmaceuticals division. He is directing operational and administrative staff and is responsible for the overall management of outsourcing activities in the Clinical Organization. Areas under his responsibility are: reviewing outsourcing strategies and interacting with service providers, contracts and grants, developing training programs, medical writing, clinical supplies, clinical systems and the overall management of quality. Mr. Gagnon recently joined San Francisco State University, College of Extended Learning, to teach Clinical Trials Design & Management.

Deborah J. Ovadia, M. Sc. is currently the Manager of Medical Affairs Operations at Gilead Sciences, where she oversees clinical contract activities for Phase I-IV clinical trials with sites, CROs, and other collaborative partners. Prior to joining Gilead, she worked “on the flip side” in academia, negotiating contracts on behalf of faculty and helping them obtain grant support for their research. She has been most active with the Association for Women in Science (AWIS), having served as Secretary of the Palo Alto Chapter and as a Representative to the Northern California Chapters of AWIS.
